| He was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) in 1997. He has been engaging in mineral deposit geology, geochemistry, regional metallogeny rule, metallogenic prognosis study and mineral exploration. In the 6th "Five-Year Period", he was in charge of solid mineral exploration of the geology department. In the 7th "Five-Year Period, he was in charge of the exploration of gold mines all over China. He successively published 12 monographs. He won the special prize of National Award of Science and Technology Advancement. In 1997, he was conferred with the Li Siguang Award for Geological Researchers. He is former chief engineer of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, former director of the Geology Survey Bureau, and former president of the Chinese Academy of Geology Science. At present, he is executive president of the executive council of the China Society of Geology, and vice chairman of the International Association of the Genesis of Ore. |
