| He was elected one of the first members of the academic committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1955. He devoted his whole life to the study of pharmaceutical chemistry and organic synthesis. He was most famous for his achievements in the study of pyridine. For example, he found that sulpur-cyanogen radical pyridine chemical compound could become corresponding iso-sulpur-cyanogen radical pyridine. He also made studies of the reaction between hydrogen peroxide and the functions of thiohydroxy pyridine, amine, hydrazine, and 2-concha thiohydroxy pyridine. In his late years, he changed from pure chemistry study to relatively practical study of pharmaceutical chemistry, and he had his unique achievements in the chemical studies of anti-tumor drugs. He was former research fellow of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the Central Academy of Health, director of the Pharmaceutics Department of the Institute of Medicines of the Chinese Academy of Medical Science, vice director of the Beijing Institute of Chemical Agent.
His work, The Studies of Vitamin B, is collected in "Local Literature Collection of Works by Celebrities of Ningbo Natives" of the Ningbo Municipal Library.
