| He was elected a member of the academic committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1991. He did some pioneering and creative work in the field of nuclear chemistry and radiochemistry. It was he who started the study of hot atom chemistry in China. He led to build the first 50,000 revolutions/min gas centrifuge with concentration of 235U in China and got 251BK for the first time. He built the advanced flow of extracting Rh, Pd and Tc from the waste fluid of nuclear fuel which was better than that of other countries. It was he who first extracted thulium-combined protein from organism and measured the number of molecules and the binding constant. He has successively served as chairman of the Committee of radiology and nuclear technology of Chinese Association of Pure and Applied Chemistry, supervisor of doctoral candidatesin the Technical Physics Department of Peking University, chairman of the China Society of Nuclear, and chairman of the Committee of Nuclear Chemistry and Radiochemistry of the China Society of Chemistry. |
