| He was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) in 1995. He successively took part in or took charge of the nuke theory research and design of nuclear weapons. He did a lot of organizing and leading work in the development of atomic bomb, hydrogen bomb and near zone physical test of nuclear tests. He solved a series of key technological problems in a creative way and made great contributions to the research, design and development of China's nuclear weapons. He won the first prize and special award of National Award of Science and Technology Advancement. He has successively served as research fellow, vice president, president and senior science counselor of Chinese Academy of Physics and Engineering.
