| He was elected a member of the academic committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1991. He has been engaging in teaching and study of the application of nuclear technology in agricultural and environmental sciences for a long time. He successively developed and synthesized 15 adionuclide marked pesticides, such as organic phosphorus pesticide and organochlorine pesticide. It was he who first put forward the isotopic tracer theory which combines the isotopic tracer technique and dynamics and first used the theoretical mathematical model to study the law of motion of pesticides and other chemicals in the ecological environment. He has successively served as president of Zhejiang Agriculture University, chairman of the Academic Committee of Zhejiang Agriculture University, president of the executive council of the China Society of Nuclear Agricultural Science, and a member of the Scientific Counselor Committee of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). |
