| He was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) in 1999. He took charge of the development of China's first gas turbine training emulator with advanced computer controlling system. It was he who first use pseudo-random signal to do on-line recognition of large gas turbine for industry and vehicle use, and put forward the leading factor method, modularization modeling, and a new theory and method of monitoring and diagnosing malfunctions. He had made remarkable contributions to the development of China's gas turbine undertaking and thermodynamic system dynamics. He has successively served as vice president of Tsinghua University, chief scientist of the State Climbing Program B, vice president of the executive council of China Society of Dynamic Engineering.
His work, The Self-Regulation Principle and Turbomachineery Self-Regulation, is collected in "Local Literature Collection of Works by Celebrities of Ningbo Natives"of the Ningbo Municipal Library.
