| She was elected a member of the academic committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1980. She has been engaging in natural products and some new drugs of anti-tumor and anti-virus and new drugs for family planning use for a long time. In the 1950s, she successfully developed an antihypertensive drug (total rauwolfine and reserpine), a new anti-tumor drug (formylmerphalan and sisal sapogenin, harringtonine and homologous compound, which could be used to treating leukemia), and China’s first anti-tumor drug (formyli sarcolysine) and a new anti-virus drug (peptide amine). She planned and directed the production of some new drugs, such as concha isoindigo. Her achievements were conferred with the first prize of National Award of Science and Technology Advancement. She has successively served as director and research fellow of the Research Office of Composition of the Institute of Drugs of the Chinese Academy of Medical Science. His work, Chinese Encyclopedia of Medical Science: Vol.18: Medicine and Pharmacology, is collected in "Local Literature Collection of Works by Celebrities of Ningbo Natives"of the Ningbo Municipal Library. |
