    He was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) in 1955. He has been engaging in the study and application of electromagnetic wave ground propagation, electromagnetic field theory, antenna and microwave techniques. In 1959, it was he who first put forward the direct solving method for the Maxwell Equation. In the development of ground-to-air missiles, he solved the key problem of parts techniques. The solving of the key technique of the lapse of antenna system designed for the ground-to-air missile guided radar was conferred with the first prize of National Award of Invention. At present, he is a research fellow of the No.2 Academy of the China National Space Industry Corporation, director of the China Society of Electronics, and concurrent professor of Peking University, and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Aerospace. His work, The Direct Method in Electromagnetic Theory and Method of Integral Equation, is collected in "Local Literature Collection of Works by Celebrities of Ningbo Natives"of the Ningbo Municipal Library.
