| He was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1995. He has been engaging in the neurophysiological study of hypothalamus and mesencephalon for a long time. He discovered that facilitation phenomenon of the electric potential of cerebral cortex dendrite of baby rabbit. Since 1980, he put forward the hypothesis that glucocorticoid hormone has impact on the non-genome mechanism of neuron or membrane receptor for the first time in the world, which was an important supplement and challenge to traditional theory. His paper was widely cited in international literatures. He served as editor-in-chief of some monographs, such as Electrophysiology of the Nervous System and Molecule Neurophysiology. He is former vice president of the executive council of the China Society of Neurophysiology，vice president of the executive council of the China Society of Physiology. At present, he is a professor of No.2 Medical University of the PLA, director of the Institute of Neuroscience, editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Neuroscience, associate editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Physiology.
His works, Electrophysiology of the Nervous System and Molecule Neurophysiology , are collected in "Local Literature Collection of Works by Celebrities of Ningbo Natives" of the Ningbo Municipal Library. |
